Meconium Aspirator Use
1. Prepare the following:
a. Endotracheal tube e. Suction catheter
b. Laryngoscope f. Suction Apparatus
c. Stylet or guide wire g. Plaster
d. Sterile gloves
2. Perform handwashing.
3. Do gloving.
4. Suction oral secretions.
5. Assist the doctor in intubation. Secure the ETT with a plaster.
6. Attach the meconium aspirator to the ETT and the suction apparatus.
7. Suction endotracheal secretions.
8. Remove endotracheal tube.
9. Do aftercare.
10. Document the procedure.
